ABOUT JOHN CONT'D

John has been involved in the Real Estate business since 1998 beginning with the purchase of a fixer property in Santa Monica Canyon. Over the years he acquired, re-imagined, and re-built a number of his own investment properties, and initially worked for others only rarely.  Subsequently he began offering his services to others providing the same level of quality and thorough diligence he employed for his own projects.  John prides himself on the ability to understand and translate your vision, or create a vision for you, all while approaching your project with the same high level of performance he expects from his own investments.

Prior to his career in real estate, John worked for twelve years in the motion picture industry. In his experience as an industry executive and a producer of studio-released films, he supervised all aspects of motion picture production including: acquisition and development of literary properties; assembly of director, cast, and key production talent; on set production management; and post-production -- editorial, sound, and music. Additionally, he participated in key decision-making regarding the marketing and distribution of motion pictures. Bertolli headed film and television development for a production company based at Paramount Pictures, served as an advisor/consultant to a media and technology start-up, and was a founding member and head of production for Destination Films. Prior to that, he worked in senior positions for Orion Films, the Motion Picture Corporation of America and 3 Arts Entertainment where he developed projects for major writer, director, and actor clients and served as creative Liaison between the company and its first-look production partner Twentieth Century Fox.

Prior to his career in entertainment, Bertolli worked in business capacities for a start-up biotechnology firm, a venture capital fund, and a Wall Street investment bank. He also owned and operated a retail store in Santa Monica focused on aesthetics for the home and body.

Bertolli holds a BS from U.C. Berkeley, an MBA from Harvard, a California General Contractor’s License, and a California Real Estate Broker’s License.
